Let's get one thing straight. I hate cardio. At least cardio in the traditional sense. Running is not my forte. Regardless, I see it as a survival skill that must be maintained. Therefore, I run. Even though I can't stand it. For the past six months, I've started incorporating the occasional mile run into my training. I've also performed a "Murph" workout each month, alternating between bodyweight and a 20-lb weight vest. These workouts include a mile run, 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats, and another mile run... as fast as possible, no breaks. As part of this, I use a treadmill...

I found this chart in this searing article on Dr. John Rusin's website about American health, food, fitness, and Big Pharma. He's an excellent resource when it comes to health, fitness, and training. What's crazy is all of this is entirely preventable... People simply can't see the truth. Or they don't know how to change their lifestyles on a fundamental level. Or it's too uncomfortable to do so. Or they simply don't care. Obesity & the health complications that come with it are entirely preventable. It simply takes a choice. A decision. To do this, not that. To eat this, not that. To drink this,...

This one is going to be controversial... There is one exercise that I rarely do anymore. And it's one of the most popular exercises in the gym. Three guesses which one... I have nothing against the movement pattern itself... but this particular variation of the movement tends to give people problems over the years, and especially as the weight gets heavier or the movement quality starts to slip. But you could also say that about pretty much any exercise... So why this one in particular? Well, the popularity factor for one. And then we have the "functional" application of the...
