Are You Waiting For The New Year?
I hope you're not.
Don't sit around waiting...
MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN.
I hear this from people every year...
"I can't wait for this year to be over."
Or, "I can't wait for the new year."
Why are you waiting? You have TODAY.
And tomorrow. And all the days in between NOW and whatever made-up date you have in your head about when you'll "make a change."
Whatever the "resolution" is, whatever the "goal," don't wait. Usually those who wait are the ones still waiting... years or decades later.
If there's something you want to do, DO IT.
If there's some goal of yours that you've never truly worked towards, START WORKING.
We all have goals and aspirations that are important to us. The ones who achieve them are the ones who work towards them.
You don't need MONUMENTAL EFFORT each day. You simply need to take CONSISTENT ACTION.
I preach consistency all the time. Because it's that damn important.
Without consistency you have nothing.
You can output all the intensity in the world, but that won't help you reach your goal. You'll simply burn-up into an unaccomplished mess that way.
No, what you need to do is act on those consistent daily habits that will get you towards your goals.
And you figure out those habits by reverse engineering the end result.
Ask yourself, "What kind of person do I have to be to achieve this, or to experience that?"
Think about how that person's daily life would play out. What they would do. Who they would be. And how they would produce value.
Then start to implement those habits into your daily life, piece by piece.
You can't materialize a beautiful skyscraper out of thin air. You have to start with the foundation, and work your way up. You get all the essential framing taken care of, and then you fully flesh out the interior.
Your life is the same way.
There's no such thing as an "overnight success."
You build out your success from the ground up. You put in the work. You take care of the essentials, all the things that hold up the operation. Then you take care of everything in between. And hopefully before you die, the work you did and the experiences you shared will leave you with a feeling of happiness and satisfaction.
So, if you don't know where to start, then start with the essentials.
One of those essentials is your body.
And if you're not taking care of your body, I don't know what the hell you're doing.
You don't need "the new year." You just need to get started.
Make time and MOVE!
